The “Claridad” (Clarity) communal bank consists of three members; single mothers with five children in their care. They are from León, a place located in the west of the country. These women are noted for being hardworking and responsible with self-improvement drives. They enjoy being in company of their children in their free time. Sadly, due to the lack of economic resources they were unable to study careers and were obliged to start working at a young age to help with household expenses.

Thanks to their effort and desire to get ahead, the bank coordinator is Ruth. Her activity is selling fruit and vegetables in a fixed location in one of the local markets. She spends about 8 hours daily in her business selling her products. She does so very happily.

The goal of the loan is to invest in working capital and stock her business so that in the not too distant future she will be able to earn higher income. The Claridad group thanks Kiva lenders for the support provided to people of scarce resources an poor countries like Nicaragua so they can have a dignified way of earning a living.
