A loan of $1,075 helped to buy fabrics, threads, materials and supplies in larger quantities.

Steven's story

Steven is 20 years old and he has three years of experience working in the tailoring business. He strives in the competitive market with his clothing line, which features garments for women, men and children.

His father introduced him to this business at an early age, teaching him little by little the skills of this field, which Steven learned gradually overtime.
In his workshop he performs all the tasks related to the production of apparel: design, preparation and assembling, as well as the final touch ups. Once the clothing pieces are ready, Steven sells them to his clients, who purchase from him either in cash or credit. His customers buy from him every week, and for this reason Steven works shifts of 10 hours every day.

At the moment he is requesting his first Kiva loan through the Foundation Mario Santa Domingo, to buy fabrics, threads, materials and supplies in larger quantities, to design special clothing for the holiday season, since it is now near and it usually brings an increase to his sales.

His entrepreneurial goal is to strengthen his business, specifically by increasing his work production to be able to earn more money.
Steven plans to also improve his skills as a tailor, without losing sight of his academic future, as he is currently attending college to have a professional career.
