A loan of $4,275 helped a member to pay for the construction of a hygienic toilet and a hand-washing device with soap.

Group 7 - An Thanh 01's story

Mrs. Chinh is 48 years old. She is married and has 3 grown children. Currently, Chinh assists her husband, who is the breadwinner of the family, through agricultural production. Together they earn a total monthly income of about 1,600,000 VND ($75). Currently, the family is using an unhygienic latrine. However, the local Women's Union, where Chinh has been a member since 1987, started a campaign to improve sanitation and hygiene. A portion of Group 7 - An Thanh 01's loan will help Chinh as well as other group members build a septic tank and a hand-washing device with soap to improve the living conditions and health of the community while also contributing to environmental protection. In the image, she stands fourth from the left.
