A loan of $1,275 helped to buy sugar cane for making aguardiente.

Rosas's story

Rosas is 34 years old and lives with his wife and four children in the rural district of San José, which is located 30 minutes from the District of Callayuc. The residents of this area engage in agriculture and livestock breeding. This community lies in Cutervo Province, which is in the Cajamarca region in the highlands of northern Peru.

Rosas has been distilling aguardiente for 15 years. In addition to being an artisanal alcoholic beverage, aguardiente is also used in medicines and antiseptics. Distillation is the process by which he is able to transform sugar cane into aguardiente.

Rosas is requesting a loan from Edypyme Alternativa in the amount of 3,500 PEN so that he can invest in raw materials, sugar cane plants, in order to increase his distillation. This will enable him to satisfy his customers and generate more profit.
