A loan of $600 helped to buy merchandise such as rice, beans, sugar, toothpaste, soap, and candy.

Mariano's story

Mariano, 73, was born in the city of Boaco. He is married and has eight grown children. He is a merchant and runs a small grocery shop. He started the business when he was 55 because he didn't earn very much at his job. He improved his standard of living through sacrifice and dedication, and his family support his efforts.

He expects his business to prosper by increasing sales and income. He has applied for a loan to buy merchandise such as rice, beans, sugar, toothpaste, soap, and candy to stock his store and meet customer demand. His next goal is to renovate his house and then expand his shop and offer more variety in the future.
