Mamusu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 30-year-old Mamusu from Waterloo's eastern area in Freetown. She is married with one child, age 8. She started this business because she needed to create a permanent source of income to support the home.

Mamusu runs a retail shop; she sells toothpaste, soap, drinks, and hair relaxing products; she has been running this business since 2007. She works at the business seven days a week and twelve hours a day. Mamusu says that the main challenges to her business are the difficulty in transporting her goods from the city to her business place, and price inflation.

Mamusu has requested a loan to purchase items including toothpaste, soap, drinks, and hair relaxer. The extra income from this loan will allow her to buy a plot of land and renovate her house.

In the future, she plans to build a permanent business location. She thanks you for your support!
