A loan of $850 helped to buy cereals.

Bakary's story

Bakary is 38 years old, married and the father of 3 boys. He lives with his wife and children in a nuclear family setting in Médine, one of the peripheral districts of Sikasso town (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). Having run several businesses without success, Bakary started storing and selling cereals (maize, millet, sorghum) 3 years ago. His warehouse is located at the Médine market.

Bakary joined the Soro Yiriwaso MFI 2 years ago in order to be able to satisfy his growing clientèle and is on his 4th loan. The previous loans have been correctly repaid. He plans to use this loan to buy 35 bags of maize and 25 bags of millet from the area surrounding Sikasso. He first stores the grain in his warehouse in order to then resell it wholesale to a clientèle composed of retailers and heads of family. With the help of this loan, he expects to make a monthly profit of 80 000 francs which he will use to contribute to the family expenses, pay the interest on his loan and reinvest in his business.
