Josephine's story

Josephine is 30 years old and she is the eldest in a family of four. Information technology is a gateway to a much improved life economically, socially and technologically. She has taken a loan of KES 85,000 to pay for an internship program at NetHope Academy. This will enable her to gain skills and experience in information technology, which will help her get a job.

In 5 or 10 years she sees herself mentoring young woman who have a passion for IT, as well as owning a firm that offers forensic services in security and auditing. She is inspired by the struggle and need to improve livelihoods of her community. She faced a challenge of demonstrations in university while studying for her degree. This was overcome through mobilization of students to form proper channels to air their grievances as well as ensure that feedback from school administrators was communicated efficiently.
