Rosette's story

Rosette is married with four children; three of her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She has a business of selling charcoal and has been in this business for 7 years. She has applied for a loan of 800,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She doesn’t have any other income generating activity. She works in a shop seven days out of every week and sells on retail basis only. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to build her own house. The family resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses includes rent and school fees.
