A loan of $425 helped a member to buy corn and cassava.

Yemalin Group's story

YEMALIN Group is made up of three people who live in the same village. The group's representative is raising her hand in the photograph. Her name is Anagonou, she's 43 years old, and married to one Jérémie. The couple has three school-attending children, whom they have to support.

Anagonou never attended school. She lives with her husband and children. The household expenses are taken care of by herself and her husband. For this reason, she sells corn and palm oil. As a secondary business, she buys cassava and transforms it into into tapioca that she resells. She gets her supplies in a market in Benin.

Eager to bolster her business, Anagonou, together with the other members of YEMALIN Group, is seeking a second loan from Kiva's partner, ALIDé. The previous loan was repaid without problems.
