Familia Responsable (Cuenca) Group's story

The Familia Responsable [Responsible Family] credit group is composed of 7 female and 1 male partners who live in the Victoria del Portete parish in Cuenca, a place surrounded by the green fields of the meadows and crop fields of their town, which has a cold climate and and an architectural mix of colonial and modern. The partners are very charismatic and hard-working people. They work on different activities that give them the opportunity to improve the stability of their households. They hope that these microloans will help them improve their economic conditions and their businesses.

One of the partners of this group is Rosa, who is requesting her first loan together with her friends and Familia Responsable credit group partners. Rosa is 31 years old and a single mother with a 7 year old child, who studies in a school in the vicinity. She does not have an own home but lives in the home of her parents with whom she shares the expenses of the household. Rosa works as a domestic worker, something she has done since a young age, working from Monday until Friday. In her home she raises small animals, such as guinea pigs and chickens, and grows plants for their home consumption only.

She will use the money of the loan to buy chickens and guinea pigs. Her dream is to become a good professional. The small picture is of a partner who could not be present when the group picture was taken.
