A loan of $725 helped to cover maintenance costs for his crops.

Emilio's story

Emilio is a 66-year-old man who lives in the city of Pucallpa with his wife and their six children. He is hardworking, enthusiastic, and dedicated to all his efforts to raise his family. Unfortunately, due to lack of financial resources and his need to begin work at a very young age, Emilio could not pursue a professional career.
On his own initiative, Emilio works in agriculture. He has a small plot on which he plants bananas and corn. He works everyday for about 8 hours and believes he is doing well for his dedication and efforts.
Emilio is very grateful to Kiva lenders and thanks them for their help to cover the costs of irrigation, fertilizer, and crop cultivation. He will continue to work and strive to achieve his dream of expanding his crops.
