A loan of $800 helped to buy more clothes to sell.

Eva's story

Eva is 47 years old and lives in the town of Kinobi in the Hoima region of Uganda. She is single and has four children, two of whom are currently in school. For the past four years, Eva has been working hard to manage her boutique, where she sells clothing.

To help expand her business, Eva has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes to sell, and will help Eva to generate greater profits and pay the school fees for her children. Eva hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her residential house.

Eva is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Eva who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
