A loan of $800 helped to buy more building items to sell in his hardware shop.

David's story

David is 40 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mubende region of Uganda. He is married and has 2 children who are currently in school. For the past 2 years, David has been working hard to manage his hardware shop, which sells hardware items.

To help expand his business, David has requested a loan of 2000000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more building items to sell in his hardware shop, helping David to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. David hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his hardware shop.

David is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like David who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
