A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase more flour and other items to make bread to sell.

Zimulinda's story

Zimulinda is 44 years old and lives in the town of Abaita Ababiri in the Kampala west region of Uganda. He is married and has 7 children with 5 of them currently in school. For the past 3 years, Zimulinda has been working hard to manage his bakery business, which sells bread and donuts.

To help expand his business, Zimulinda has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more flour and other items to make bread to sell, and will help Zimulinda to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. Zimulinda hopes that in the future he will be able to have a bigger bakery.

Zimulinda is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Zimulinda who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
