A loan of $3,850 helped a member to buy more soft drinks, fruits, vegetables and to start selling fish.

Rufiji Group's story

Zaituni, who is in her late 30s, is married with six children who are still going to school. She has been running several businesses selling soft drinks and fruits and vegetables for one year now. She works from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be Zaituni's 3rd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to increase the soft drinks, fruits and vegetables and to start selling dry fish. She has paid back all of her loans successfully. She used the profits to pay school fees and household expenses. She will use this to buy more dry fish to resell. She dreams of building her own house.

Zaituni will share this loan with her loan group "RUFIJI", which consists of 16 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
