A loan of $5,800 helped a member to buy a cow.

Las Rosas Del Tolar Group's story

The "Las Rosas del Tolar" communal bank will begin its fourth loan cycle through the Patacamaya regional office. This communal bank is made up of eight members and is managed by a board of directors, which has Lidia as its president. The members have various businesses, including: selling milk, and growing potatoes. This loan will benefit small businesses in Lidia's communal bank. Lidia tells us that she joined Pro Mujer four years ago following an invitation from a neighbour, who is a member of the communal bank. Lidia has a business growing potatoes and selling milk. She tells us that she learned this trade from her parents from a young age. This loan will used to increase Lidia's capital, by buying a dairy cow from one of the nearby communities. Lidia will raise the cow and sell the milk. This work allows Lidia to earn the money to support her household as best as possible - Lidia is married and has one son. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Lidia responds by saying she likes the savings that she makes.
