A loan of $2,300 helped a member to buy fabrics.

12 De Junio Group's story

Communal bank “12 de junio” is in its third cycle with Pro Mujer, in the satellite office of Senkata. It is composed of eight members and run by a board where Dora is the president. The members have different activities, such as selling clothes, selling groceries, weaving blankets, selling toys, carpentry and selling shoes.

This loan will be beneficial for small micro entrepreneurs such as Dora. She has been working with Pro Mujer for three years, invited by a representative from the institution that paid her a visit. She has a tailor’s shop, inherited from her parents some years ago.

The loan she is requesting will help her to increase her working capital. She will buy fabrics from the different wholesalers in the city of El Alto. She will make clothes and sell them in different regions in Bolivia. With this activity, she can maintain her family. She is single and has three children.

When asked what she likes the most about Pro Mujer, she says she likes the healthcare facilities.
