A loan of $600 helped purchase a dairy cow.

José Cristian's story

José is 28 years old, has a ninth grade education, has a stay-at-home wife, and together they have four children. His wife and children, who are enrolled in school, all depend on his work.

He gets up everyday at 4:00 a.m. and works in agriculture, which he learned from his parents. He walks three kilometers to his plot and works all morning while his wife milks the cows and sells the milk. Later, during the afternoon, he works as a caretaker on a farm.

The loan José is requesting will be used to purchase a dairy cow and produce more milk for retail sale. In this way he will earn more income with which to take care of his family.

José is also planning to build a home for his family, as where they currently live develops leaks in the winter and is not very safe.
