A loan of $350 helped to buy a dairy cow.

Mario Fredys Ernesto's story

Mario, 52, has a spouse and three adult daughters aged between 20 and 25. He was only able to complete ninth grade. His wife’s a merchant and has a small snack bar at a school where she sells snacks. She gets up every morning at 4am to get the things ready to sell at 7am

Mario works in agriculture, an occupation he learned from his father. To get to his place of work he walks a distance of one kilometer to reach his parcel. He works all morning while his wife tends to the school snack bar. Later, when each finishes their work day they care for their animals in a leased pasture.

The loan will be used to buy a dairy cow to add to milk production and increase family income. In future, Mario hopes to buy land to keep his animals and not have to pay to lease it.
