A loan of $375 helped to buy organic fertiliser.

Rosmeri's story

Rosmeri is a young 21 year old woman who lives in her own home with her husband Denys and her two year old daughter. When she got engaged Rosmeri began her family, and after the arrival of her young daughter she decided to work alongside her partner in the field of agriculture. In doing so she has been able to keep going financially thanks to the harvest and sale of cacao almonds, one of the most profitable products in the area. Her property is 1.5 hectares and brimming with cacao, coffee and fruit tree plantations.

Rosmeri has the continual support of her husband as well as the workers she hires for the difficult jobs, such as pulling out weeds and harvesting crops. Having a plot of land far away from the town where she lives means she has to make a start very early in the morning to attend to all of her agricultural tasks during the day before coming home by sunset.

This is Romeri’s first loan with Kiva. She is grateful for the financial support she will receive so that she can keep going. She also promises to make her repayments on time. Rosmeri would like 1000 nuevos soles to purchase organic fertilizer to provide nutrients for her seedlings.
