A loan of $4,450 helped a member to buy tires.

Palomitas Blancas Group's story

The “Palomitas Blancas” (Little White Doves) communal bank will start its fourth cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the German Busch Focal Center. It consists of nine members led by a governing board presided over by Alicia. The members of the communal bank carry out a variety of activities among which are: wool weaving, shoe sales, vegetable sales, socks and gloves sales, blanket weaving, grocery sales, potato and dehydrated potato sales and minibus helper.

The loan they’ll take out will benefit small micro businesswomen like Alicia. She indicates that she joined Pro Mujer a year ago having been invited by a friend who is a member of the institution. She currently has a taxi service, a business she started 15 years ago together with her husband.

The loan she’ll take out is to increase capital. She will buy tires for her car from wholesalers in the city of El Alto and have them installed on her car. This way of working makes it possible for her to support her home as possible since she’s married and has two children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the savings they make in the institution.

The group is accompanied by their consultant; she’s wearing a blue and red vest.

In this group: Alicia, Virginia , Rosa, Catalina , Gladys Abigail, Natividad, Rosalia, Petrona, Rosa
