A loan of $3,000 helped to purchase more young animals.

Zahra's story

Zahra is a 44-year-old Iraqi woman who is married and a mother of five children.

She has 15 years of experience herding and raising cows to sell. The more young animals she can buy at the same time and raise simultaneously, the more income she can generate, as there is a high demand for the cows for their meat. She is taking a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq to be able to purchase more young animals.

Based on the political and social challenges of lending in Iraq, personally identifiable information about this borrower has been altered for their protection. RI-Iraq appreciates Kiva lenders' consideration of these challenges and encourages lenders to continue their support for Iraqi borrowers.
