Sopheap's Group's story

Sopheap, 32 and a resident from Moung Russey district of Battambang province, is married and has four children who are still young. For the sake of her kids, she plants rice as the primary source of income. Engaging in her current business for several years, Sopheap is able to earn about 20,000 KHR per day. This is the second loan for Sopheap and the first loan for her co-borrower with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). The past successful loan, which she has repaid completely, enabled her to improve her living conditions. For this cycle, she is seeking 400,000 KHR while her joint borrower is applying for 1,000,000 KHR. As the leader, she will spend her loan portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes that she can make more income from her business and expand it to a bigger scale.
