A loan of $550 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Chanthou's Group's story

A resident of a rural village in the Thmor Koul district, Chanthou is a 49-year-old mother of three children, one of whom is dependent on her and still in school. The main sources of family income are rice farming and seedling mushrooms, which she has been doing for twenty years. With her current business, she can earn about KHR 70,000 per day to spend on daily expenses.

This is the fourth loan for Chanthou with VisionFund and the group successfully paid back the loan with VisionFund. Now she is leading her group to apply for this loan. As the leader, she will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it on labor and land ploughing. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income so as to improve her standard of living.
