Maria Catalina's story

María, 61, is married and has four children; she lives in the municipality of Gracias, Lempira with her youngest daughter. She’s always worked in agriculture growing basic grains and has been growing coffee for the last ten years. She sells the coffee beans in the local market.

She’s requested several loans to keep her farm in good condition. The loan she’s asking for now is for 10,000 Lempiras and she’s going to use it to buy fertilizer to fertilize her coffee plants to continue providing maintenance for her coffee farm. Her goal is to improve her and her family’s standard of living and to be able to help her daughter complete her schooling.
