A loan of $1,100 helped to build a latrine and buy its facilities.

Puth's story

Puth is 41 years old and is a married woman with four children. She lives in her own home in Bakan district of Pursat province, which is located in the western part of the country. To earn a living, she and her husband manage a rice farming business on approximately two-hectares of farmland. It is the sole source of their income. They have been in this occupation for more than 20 years.

She wants to improve the general living conditions of the entire family by having a latrine to use, because there is no latrine in her house now. Therefore, she is borrowing a 1,100 US dollars loan to build a latrine and buy its facilities. By doing this, she can help her family members gain access to sanitation, promote their health, and help to lessen environmental deterioration. She is thankful for the loan granted through HKL with a much lower interest rate than other general loan products.
