A loan of $1,200 helped to buy tools and spare parts for his auto repair business.

Sero's story

Sero is a new client of UGAFODE Microfinance – Ishaka Branch. He is a mechanic who has done mechanics for the last 13 years. He works six days per week and four hours per day. His clients are mainly car owners, who take their cars to him so that he can repair them. In addition to the mechanic type of business, he is also a driver, and this makes him more money to support his family. He started mechanics work in 2000 with the hope of being able to sustain his family.

Sero plans to use the loan funds of 3,000,000 Ugandan shillings to buy equipment to use in his business so that he can make more income. He hopes that in future he will also buy another car and a stronger car. Unstable income is his major challenge, but he hopes to overcome this with time – especially if he gets this loan and makes more money from the business.
