A loan of $1,600 helped to buy inventory and a display case.

Yubelis Del Carmen's story

Yubelis is 36 years old and has always liked business, so she began selling various merchandise, with her husband’s help, 11 years ago to help support her household, made up of her husband and three children, ages 5-11. Yubelis sells soft drinks, cold drinks, food, and women’s and household accessories for cash and credit. Her customers are neighbors and passers-by. Yubelis has been able to use three previous loans, through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, to strengthen her business, but her dream of prosperity outpaces her possibilities, so she is asking for a Kiva loan to buy undergarments, beer in quantity, cold drinks, and a display case to keep her business more orderly and show her products. With this she foresees that her business will continue growing its sales, especially in the upcoming season, where she has more sales and volume usually increases at the end of the year. Her business is more profitable, making her Kiva loan very successful.
