Bernardo De Jesus's story

Bernardo De Jesús is a young Industrial Engineering student who is asking for a loan to pay all his educational expenses. This is his story:

My name is Bernardo De Jesús and I’m 21-years-old. I’m from La Vega, Dominican Republic. I have two siblings, am single, my father has a fried chicken business and my mother’s a housewife.

I’m studying an Industrial Engineering career in UCATECI. This field is very attractive to my first of all because I like it and also because it has several areas within engineering one can develop in. I’ve taken 34 courses and the ones I like best are Methods Engineering, Production Maintenance, Pneumatics, Technical Drawing, Mechanical Technology, Administration, etc.

The loan is necessary for me because it’s of great importance for I don’t have the necessary resources to be able to continue studying. If I were not to get the loan I’d be affected because my life would change in society.

My goal is to become an industrial engineer specializing in upper management, logistics and methods engineering. My personal goals are: to help my brother become a professional and my main goal is to place my parents in a better place.

When I complete my studies, I’m going to thank God and Kiva-FUNDAPEC for giving me the opportunity of to study and work in an industrial firm in one of my areas of specialization like, for example, logistics or maintenance methodology.
