Sandhya sells fish as her business in her locality. Her husband was helping her in this business. In the year 2010, Sandhya along with three other members of her village formed a group and took out a loan from Mahashakti Foundation for the expansion of their existing business.

At the time of accessing that first loan she was earning a sum of Rs.3,000 per month. Thereafter, her income grew rapidly, commensurate with her business turnover. Out of their small income they are maintaining their family in a low profile. To improve her living conditions and to earn some extra income she accessed a second loan. Now she is very much confident in running her business and has developed her business significantly. At present her monthly income is Rs.5,000 from her fish business which is still not sufficient to cater for the needs of her family. She has a dream to have fish wholesale business after getting a loan from Mahashakti Foundation.

The other three members named Baidehi, Basumati and China are doing seasonal business, a grocery shop and a fish business respectively.
