A loan of $825 helped to purchase TV sets, radios, DVDs, and mobile phones to resell.

Ablaye's story

This borrower is called Ablaye; he is 30 years old, married, and a father of four. Ablaye has been active in commerce since 2003. He opened a store in a bus station, where he sells TV sets, radios, DVD's, and mobile phones. He is a regular at the microfinance institution IMCEC, since he is on his ninth loan. He has turned to IMCEC whenever he needs to bolster his capital.

Ablaye works from 8 AM to 10 PM running his business by himself. He possesses a customer base whose loyalty he has earned by his constant inventory of goods he maintains in his store.

Ablaye is responsible for his family's food and care. And thanks to the profits his business brings in, he can save money and think about opening another store in the future in order to maximize his profit.
