A loan of $2,325 helped a member to buy baking flour, sugar, beans cooking oil, maize flour and charcoal.


Mikumi Group's story

Anjelina, who is in her early 40s, is married with five children who are still at school. She has been a food vendor for ten years now. She works from 6.00 am to 5.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Anjelina's 14th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy a fridge, freezer, restock missing items in the food store and fabrics from Zaire. She has paid back all loans successfully. She used the profit to buy a TV set, paid school fees, covered household expenses, bought a sofa set, a bed and a mattress.

She will use this loan to buy backing flour, sugar, beans cooking oil, maize flour and charcoal. She dreams of building her own house.

She will share this loan with her loan group 'Mikumi' with six members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
