A loan of $975 helped to buy perfumes, lotions, make-up, and costume jewelry.

María Dolores's story

Every 2 weeks, the Communal Bank ‘Mujeres al Progreso’ (Women to the Progress) meets in the city of Tosagua, a place of beautiful vegetation, known for its dynamism and because its residents work in agriculture and animal husbandry. María lives in this place. She is 23 years old, single and lives with her parents.

She has been through 4 cycles with the Communal Bank, and she enjoys it because through the loans she can finance her business, which allows her to generate her own income for her well-being and that of her family. María is a very hardworking woman, who is proud to earn her own salary to support herself, and to help her parents, who have limited economic resources.

María sells beauty products from Avon and Yanbal (make up, perfumes and women’s accessories). She sells cosmetics by walking throughout the city; she visits her clients to either sell new products or to collect payments -which she does every 8 days-

María has been selling cosmetics for 4 years now, and it is going quite well. The perfumes are what she sells the most, because of their good quality.
Maria will use this loan to buy perfumes, lotions, make-up, and costume jewelry. Her dream is to own her own boutique.
