A loan of $1,375 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Jussely's story

Jussely, 32 years old, is a young mother from a hard-working family. She lives with her husband Roger and her dear daughter in their own home. Her livelihood is growing corn, potatoes, peas, etc., on the small plots of land that she inherited from her parents. She works arduously every day to later harvest her products and sell them in the wholesale market of the city of Tarma.

What she likes most about her work is the freedom she has in carrying it out, as she is the one who decides what is best for her crops. She has been doing this work for 13 years, and considers the most difficult part to be transporting her products to market. This is because most of the time it is very difficult for her to find a vehicle that wants to take her.

In the future she hopes to set up a stand in the market, as she is sure that she will improve her income this way. This is her fifth loan with Kiva, and in all this time she has shown herself to be a responsible person, committed to her group.

Jussely will spend the 3800 soles to buy organic fertilizer for nourishing her crops, as it is harvest season and very little time is left for her crops to finish maturing.
