Lucas is married and has four children. They both live in a five bedroom apartment house in Bamenda in the Northwest region of Cameroon. He has faced many challenges in life, including inadequate finances to start up a business of his own and cater for his family's needs, sickness, and death of family members.

With this new loan, he will invest in buying more piglets, fowl, and farming seeds. He holds a positive view of this business succeeding because he has been doing it for a long time and the demand for pigs and fowl is high. In addition, the waste of the fowl and pigs will be used in the farm to increase yield. With this business activity, the community will benefit from pig and fowl waste (manure) which will be used for farming. They will also benefit from the availability of fowl and pigs, which they will buy at moderate prices during occasions such as death celebrations and marriages.

With the profit from this loan, Lucas will cater for his family's needs, ensure his children's education, expand his poultry and piggery farming, and also save some money to undertake a bigger investment. He prefers loans from GHAPE because of the low interest rates and convenient repayment intervals, as well as the fact that social needs of members are catered for at GHAPE.
