Jessica, who is married with an only child, resides in Mansabay Bajo, Lopez Jaena. While her husband is working as a private employee, she manages their farm to make a living. She also grows and harvests mango on her farm. Recently, she joined GDMPC and is borrowing 25,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer and organic pesticides. She knows very well that with this investment, she will earn multiple returns. She plans to use her income to buy another farm and to improve the general living situation of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
