A loan of $3,750 helped a member to buy fabric and wool.

Renacer De Nuevo Amanecer Group's story

The Renacer de Nuevo Amanecer communal bank is starting their fifth loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Villa Adela regional office. They have nine members and are run by a board of directors with Hilda as the President. The members have a variety of businesses and they are moving along. The types of businesses include selling soft drinks, making macro me blankets, managing a neighborhood store, and making crafts. This loan will help member Hilda's small business. She said that this is the first time she joined Pro Mujer, after being invited by a friend who is a member. Hilda currently has a workshop where she works by braiding and sewing blankets. She said that she learned these skills from her mother and that this is the family business. When she got married, she decided to start her own business. This loan will allow her to increase her capital and buy fabric and wool. She will get these supplies from a wholesale distributor in the city of El Alto and then she will make and sell the blankets to customers who requested them. This type of work allows Basilia to earn income and support her household since she is married and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she said she likes the financing that they offer.
