A loan of $1,200 helped to buy more different types of clothe to sell.

Christine's story

Christine is 32 years old and lives in the town of Kibuli in the Kampala south region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, with two of them currently in school. For the past three years, Christine has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells clothes.

To help expand her business, Christine has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more different types of clothes to sell, and will help Christine to generate greater profits and help in improving the family's standard of living. Christine hopes that in the future she will be able to get her own shop, since she has been sharing this one, and start selling wholesale.

Christine is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Christine who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
