Angeles is 57 years old, married and the mother of two children. She works hard to provide for her family by running a general store in the Philippines, and is requesting a loan for PHP 23,000 from NWTF to buy additional items to sell such as sugar, soap, soy sauce, eggs, shampoo and groceries. Angeles has borrowed and repaid 21 loans from NWTF prior to this one. She has been running her general store for four years and earns additional income by buying and selling fish. Her goal is to save enough to provide a secure future for her family.

(NWTF) is a non-governmental organization established with an aim to help men and women achieve self-sufficiency, particularly in the province of Negros Occidental’s low-income communities. The organization offers its clients a wide variety of products, including loans for micro-entrepreneurs, hospital income benefits, life insurance, accidental death benefits and more. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the reach of these products to low-income urban and rural communities.
