A loan of $1,050 helped to buy cereals and agricultural products.

N’To's story

N’TO is 45 years old and lives with his seven children and spouses in Dienfing, which is located in the Ouelessebougou sub-prefecture, Koulikoro region.

N’TO did not go to school. Very early on, he became in interested in revenue generating activities - namely buying, stocking, and selling cereals. He learned this business from an uncle on his mother's side who was a cereal merchant. With the hope of satisfying his client base, which is clearly growing, he decided to work with Soro Yiriwaso. After having properly repaid his six previous loans, this is his seventh individual loan, which will help him buy four tons of cereal and agricultural products such as: corn, beans, millet, and fonio (a West African grain). He buys his supplies from the peasant farmers in and around Dienfing, and he will keep these supplies for at least 3 months.

He sells mostly at wholesale prices to clients who are resellers from large cities like Bamako and Ouelessebougou. N’TO hopes to earn an average monthly income of 100,000 FCFA, which he’ll use to reimburse the loan and to reinvest in his business.
