Koutiala, Mali / Sewing

A loan of $525 helped buy sewing material.

Alou's story

Alou is a single 29-year-old tailor and dressmaker, who lives in the city of Koutiala. For social reasons, he was unable to pursue his primary education, which is why he became involved in sewing.

According to him, this business is very profitable and provides him with enough income, especially with the approach of Christmas. He gets a lot of orders per month.

For good customer satisfaction and to expand his business, Alou approached the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution where he is on his third individual loan.

This loan will be used to acquire sewing material: fabric, lace, embroidery threads. He runs his business at his sewing workshop in the city of Koutiala, for a mixed clientele, in cash and on credit.

With the expansion of his business, Alou expects to make monthly profits of 75,000 CFA francs he will use to repay loan interests, meet his personal needs and reinvest the remainder in his activity.
