A loan of $675 helped a member to purchase a variety of cosmetic products for her husband's beauty salon.

Shazia's Group's story

Shazia is a 39-year-old married woman. She is the mother of four children. Her husband owns a beauty salon, which is the only source of income for the family. His monthly net income is insufficient to pay the children's school fees, pay the electricity and gas bills and to meet the daily food needs and other expenses. He has to support his family as well. Presently, he is planning to grow his business. For that Shazia, as a member of a two-person lending group, has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan for her husband to purchase a variety of beautician products like lipstick, hair dryers, facial creams and makeup kits to work more professionally. With the amount of profit, he will put aside some savings amount and pay the electricity and gas bills. Shazia hopes that the loan will be helpful to her husband's business.
