A loan of $550 helped to buy carbonated beverages and sewing supplies.

Damaris's story

Damaris, 32, is married to Odilo and lives with her two children, her grandfather, and her husband in her own house, which she build with a lot of effort.

Damaris earns a living selling carbonated beverages in various brands and flavors. She also makes a living sewing, which she learned in a vocational education center. Later she bought a sewing machine and a darning machine with her savings and set them up in her house, where she serves her customers. They always seek her out because of her good work. She earns their approval, so they recommend her to other people who later become steady customers.

Damaris started this business more than a year ago and does it alone. Thanks to the sale of carbonated beverages, though, she can help her husband with the household expenses.

This is Damaris's fourth Kiva loan. She's grateful for the financial support she receives so she can get ahead, and she promises to make her payments punctually.

Damaris will invest the requested amount of 1500 nuevos soles [PEN] in carbonated beverages wholesale and sewing supplies such as fabric, thread, and buttons.
