Fayza is a 61-year-old Lebanese married woman, living with her husband and only child. She has owned a mini market since 2011. She sells dairy and daily products such as canned food, juices, bread, sweets etc. She works very hard to support her family financially, especially considering that she is the one and only income source of the family. With her requested loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l, she will increase her store’s inventory of food provisions and drinks. She is confident that when diversifying goods, more customers will be attracted, and therefore higher income will be earned.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
