A loan of $2,225 helped to buy 15 sheep to start her sheep rearing business.

Tamano's story

Tamano is a 27 year old married woman from the countryside. She lives in the J. Rumi district. Her husband is a farmer. He practices crop farming on a 0.15 hectare of land. Tamano decided to start earning money as well. As there is a barn for holding livestock in the backyard of their house, Tamano wants to practice animal husbandry, specifically raising sheep. She thinks that sheep rearing is not overly time-consuming and does not require a lot of effort. It is a very profitable business for those who do it, as lamb meat is always in demand. In order to start her business, Tamano is requesting a loan. She plans to buy 15 sheep every month, and after the course of a month, fatten them up and resell them at the livestock market. Thanks to the loan, she will have her own business with a stabile income, which will allow her to increase her family's budget.
