A loan of $725 helped to buy wool and handicrafts.

Nely's story

Nely, 51, is married to Jose and has 3 grown children. She now lives just with her husband in her own home. She's been making wall-hangings, wool blankets, ponchos and other items woven with synthetic wool and cotton. With time, dedication and hard work, she managed to open up a stall in a handicrafts market in a location that is next to the city in her district, which is a place where tourists arrive in the area. But as she is an enterprising woman, she also has a car that she uses to provide public transportation services on the Tarma-to-Lima route.

At this time, Nely is planning to travel to various markets in the country to expand her business. She is currently knitting scarves and hats for the winter, and to do this she needs your help so that she can acquire the items she needs to continue with her business.

This is her 3rd loan with Kiva, and she feels grateful for the financial support that she is receiving to help her continue forward. She will invest the 2,000 Peruvian soles that she is requesting in the purchase of handicrafts to stock her shop and to buy more colored wool so that she can make her textile products.
