A loan of $3,000 helped a member to buy more food cooking supplies.


Beijing Group's story

Zena, who is in her early 20s, is married with three kids who are in school. Zena has had a mamalishe (street food) business for three years now. She works from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and is able to earn a good monthly profit.

This will be her second loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her previous loan to buy food cooking supplies like maize and baking flour, beans, rice, sugar and firewood for cooking. She is doing great in her business and managed to pay back her loan successfully. She used her profit to cover household expenses and school fees. Zena will use this loan to buy more food cooking supplies for her business. She dreams that one day she will be able to own a hotel.

She will share this loan with her loan group " Beijing ", which includes 10 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
