Munaza's Group's story

Munaza baji is the wife of M. A. and the mother of four children. All of her children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. She lives in a city named Chichawatni, Pakistan. Munaza baji's husband has a business in cable networking. The definition of cable networking is "he provides tv channels to the community through satellite". Munaza baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work. She successfully completed her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy wire to expand her husband's cable networking business.



She is joined in her loan group by several more members. Tanvir baji wants a loan to buy seasonal fruit to resell. Kalsoom baji wants a loan to buy mason's tools. Safia baji wants a loan to buy computer parts to resell. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy leather for her leather business.



This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
