A loan of $725 helped to buy ice creams and soft drinks wholesale.

Isabel's story

Isabel, 53, is married to Marden. She has four children, but she only lives with her youngest daughter in her own house. Isabel works selling a well-known brand of ice creams, and assorted brands and flavors of soft drinks. She has a refrigerator installed in her own home, which she was able to buy with her own money. She says that in the summer season, she has quite a bit of demand, and attends to her customers in a friendly way. She started this business more than four years ago and she has the support of her husband. She likes her work because of the income that she makes, with which she can meet household expenses, and provide an education for her youngest daughter, like she did with her older children. She feels like a productive person with her business. She wants to continue with her activity, seeking to make it grow and to have higher profits. This is her fourth loan from Kiva, and she is glad for the financial support that she receives. This is why she is committed to making her payments on time. With the 2,000 new soles that she has asked for, she will buy more products for her business, like brand-name ice creams and assorted brands and flavors of soft drinks.
